Carlos Gabriel Niño is an internationally celebrated producer, arranger, composer, musician, radio host, DJ, music consultant, writer, poet, and event organizer, based in his hometown of Woodland Hills, California. He has been an important force in the contemporary independent music scene since 1995. A prolific artist, Niño has been involved in the production of more than 100 records and has toured with various bands and as a DJ throughout Europe, Japan and the United States. Currently he leads his group Carlos Niño & Friends who are celebrating the release of Flutes, Echoes, It’s All Happening! on Leaving Records.
Returning for its second season, the Little Tokyo Concert Series honors the intimate, outdoor and natural setting as an ideal environment to experience good music up close. With a diverse lineup of LA’s hottest acts, each night will be a unique and exciting way to wrap your weekends. After selling out each concert last year, we are thrilled to bring this series back to Los Angeles with a fresh line-up, here in the heart of Little Tokyo.

Playing drum set and providing commentary with Jazz Antigua Dance & Music Ensemble on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Pasadena City College. The band includes vocalist/music director Dwight Trible, bassist Trevor Ware and pianist Billy McCoy.
As part of its celebration of Black History Month, Pasadena City College is proud to present “Art of Jazz to Jazz: A Legacy in Music & Dance” featuring the Jazz Antigua Dance & Music Ensemble on Feb. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Harbeson Hall.
Founded in 1993, Jazz Antigua Dance & Music Ensemble celebrates the jazz tradition as a vital thread in the cultural fabric of African-American history and heritage, and as a defining element of the American experience.
The company’s mission is to increase awareness of and appreciation for jazz as an American legacy. Artistic director and choreographer Pat Taylor blends her love of jazz and blues music, as well as visual art and spoken word to create Jazz Antigua’s own brand of jazz theater with a distinctive historical perspective.
