Commentary: I am very lucky to have spoken on the history and technique of Ethiopian music in Professor Adam Gilbert’s ‘Music and Ideas’ course at USC. The students were interactive and seemed inspired. I covered the modes, rhythms, historical origins and other discussion points. Professor Gilbert is a Ph.d in Early Music with the school and I appreciate his invitation.
