Commentary: I music-directed a short 2-week tour with Kelis and this recording happened in Toronto halfway through the run. We had traveled 10 hours by bus to Canada the night before, were a little tired but were also really starting to gel as a band. Further, Q has the best sound engineers and production people. The drum set was vintage, the in-house piano was a 9 foot Yamaha masterpiece (that plays like something built out of wood from the Black forrest) and the overall vibe of the room was wonderful. I am proud of this recording as it swings, features great low end and Kelis at her best. Click the image or link above or here.
